Materials & Finishes

Materials Selected for Long-Term Use

Adventure components need a different material balance than a lightweight-focused sportbike application. Strength, durability, corrosion resistance, machinability, and service life all need to be weighed against the actual component and operating environment.

4130 Chromoly Steel

High-strength structural components — lowering links and load-bearing linkage components

304 / 316 Stainless Steel

Corrosion resistance — hardware and fasteners exposed to rain, mud and road salt

52100 / 440C / 17-4PH

High-load and wear-critical components — rod end and spherical bearing balls, races, and other precision wear surfaces

6061-T6 / 7075-T6 Aluminum

Lightweight structures — brackets, mounting components, and other parts where weight reduction must be balanced with durability

Plating

For steel components requiring additional corrosion protection in wet, muddy, or road-salt environments

Anodizing

For aluminum components requiring corrosion resistance, surface durability, and a controlled appearance

Passivation

For stainless steel components requiring improved corrosion resistance and a clean, consistent surface

Our Approach

7075-T6 is used where higher strength is required without moving to heavier steel construction; stainless steel comes into play specifically where corrosion resistance matters for components exposed to moisture and road conditions. Material selection follows the load case and environment, not a default.

Adventure builds often add luggage racks, crash protection, auxiliary lighting, suspension changes, larger tanks, and other accessories that can change available clearance and mounting interfaces. We manufacture to the actual requirement rather than assuming a stock configuration.
